  • Boundaries...man, they are hard to set. It’s difficult to articulate your boundaries no matter if you’re setting them with coworkers, family, customers, friends, or even yourself. However, they are so vital. Boundaries can help you avoid confusion, anxiety, and wasted time.
    .
With customers or coworkers: most importantly, you need to set work hours. That could mean offering client calls at certain hours only, answering emails at certain times of the day, or needing to leave early or come in late at certain points during the week. This allows you to dictate when you will be available and when you will not. At a certain point, you can feel good about putting your phone on airplane mode and shutting your laptop down. These boundaries also give you a strict timeframe to complete your work.
    .
With yourself: you need to learn to say no. Here’s a trick—have a set number of commitments per week. A set number of posts, client calls, workouts, happy hours, etc. Try out a number that sounds good to you at first, and if it becomes too much or too little, change it! I found that this practice helped me feel a bit more at ease saying no to things. Instead of just feeling overwhelmed and bad about turning down events, there is a definitive boundary line.
    .
What are some boundaries you plan to put in place, or you’ve already put in place? I’m curious! Let me know below👇
