    A Senegalese dish, also popular in other West African countries made with marinated chicken with onions and Dijon mustard. I like to make mine with olives but it’s optional. ⁣⁣⁣⁣

    Yassa can be served with white rice, vermicelli, couscous, fries or attieke (a side dish made from cassava).

  • We all have cravings kicking in at some point or other other. Guilty pleasures we all enjoy having! 🍕

    However, truth be told - junk food, if not always, will make you feel sloppy and heavy.
    Restoring the balance in our body takes time but keeping some tips in mind, helps.
    So, I thought of sharing two very important things to remember this cheat weekend.
    1️⃣Heavy meals take a longer time to break down. We need to give our bodies the time to digest food properly, especially if we are having it at night. 3-4 hours prior going to bed is usually when I have such meals.
    2️⃣Let’s not forget our Green tea( after 30-45 mins), it works wonders! Zero calories yet so refreshing. 🍵 ☑️That said, happy cheating! ☺️ .

    Dried hibiscus leaves is used to make what we call Bissap in Benin Republic but known as Zobo in other parts of Africa and Sorrel in the Caribbean. ⁣

    One of the drinks I grew up drinking in Benin Republic 🇧🇯 ...my motherland.

  • Love eat pray-enjoy your food, listen to your hunger cues and dont count calories. Food and drink is pretty much what we think of all day long on a social level, celebrations, to live, to give us energy and the list goes on. But whatever you eat enjoy it, dont feel guilty and eat mindfully and slowly and chew your food well. Kickstarting my lovely Saturday morning with poached eggs, sauteed tomato and spinach on a bed of smashed avocado on wholemeal toast and a cup of freshly made chai tea. Have used the wonderful @hunterandgatheruk avocado oil and @goodhempfood dairy free milk. If you want any evidence based nutritional advice follow the amazing @rhitrition nutritionist and @doctors_kitchen for how to lead a healthy lifestyle through good nutrition! Happy Saturday all🤗
