  • I had the wonderful opportunity to play in a recording/filming session for an upcoming Nintendo Switch game (release date: 12/13), Dragon Marked for Death (developed by Inti Creates) with Ippo-san and soundtrec!
There was a video camera crane!! 😍👍🏻 (PC/VC: Hikaru Sekiguchi and Ernesto Galen)

  • 🤡This part of the 3rd movement of Shostakovich's 4th Quartet always reminds me of a creepy circus! 🤡 ----------------------------------------------
Fun fact: Shostakovich kept this quartet hidden during the Stalin years. It is far from the “progressive” and popular music the Soviet government wanted, and while this quartet has been admired for its lucidity, it is nevertheless troubling music, remarkable for its leanness, its restraint—and its bleakness. This Quartet was completed in 1950 but it didn't receive its premiere until December of 1953 in Moscow, nine months after Stalin's death and one month after the his Fifth Quartet had first been performed.

Gracias a mi bellísima ciudad #toledo #pianosenlacalle #pianostoledo #piano 🎹 #toledo #masfelizqueunaperdiz #pianist #pianista #hanszimmer #pianosolo #pianowoman #pianoplayer

  • Here I am, stood awkwardly and ruining the beautiful interior of St. David’s Cathedral. This was taken straight after my debut concert where I was still in a slightly euphoric state with bits of Bach, Beethoven, Schubert and Debussy still floating around in my head. There’s just something extremely special about being solitary on stage with your instrument, with hundreds of people paying every ounce of their attention to you. The great responsibility in that you are piloting the audience on this musical flight and that you must represent the composer faithfully is such a massive privilege to me. Alright! Advice of the day: nerves are inevitable when it comes to giving performances in front of large audiences, a lot of the time the nerves comes from overthinking and self-doubt. Putting yourself in a positive mindset by not anticipating failure and focusing on the satisfaction that you are aiming for in the outcome will definitely help. Also, physical and mental control come hand in hand, where focusing on deep and even breaths will stop your mind racing a million mph. I hope that this is helpful to fellow musicians out there with calming before-concert nerves, or anyone really! Whatever you find nerve-wracking. Have a lovely Sunday and here’s to a new week! 🌹 #piano #music #classical #pianist #concert #classicalmusic #classicalmusician
